The Planning Department is responsible for administration and implementation of the City’s Zoning Ordinance, Comprehensive Plan and other relevant ordinances and the management of the planning and permitting processes.
Contact the department prior to beginning any of the following:
adding to an existing building (additions) or making structural alterations, including porches;
changing a building or land’s use;
constructing or expanding any new residential, commercial, or industrial structure;
demolishing a building;
finalizing subdivision plats;
installing or replacing signage.
The department has restarted enforcement of the City’s property maintenance code. Please review the IPMC Self-Inspection Checklist and address any issues found.
