The City of Walhalla Water Department has repaired the water line in the North Highway 11 area and water service is being restored. A boil water advisory is now in place to the affected areas.

An early morning water line break along North Highway 11 has caused low system pressures and a drained storage tank resulting in a water outage for some. Areas affected and now under a boil water advisory include:

  • N Hwy 11
  • Christopher Rd
  • Pickett Post Rd
  • Oconee Station Rd
  • Lecroy Rd
  • Falcon’s Lair
  • Walhalla High School
  • Bethel Church Rd
  • Springbrook Rd
  • Deaton Rd
  • Oconee Creek Rd
  • Mountain Springs Rd
  • Jones Rd
  • Burnt Tanyard Rd
  • Old Station Rd
  • Country Junction Rd
  • And surrounding areas

Water crews are flushing the area to avoid contamination, and water samples have be taken for testing. Affected customers should vigorously boil their water for at least one (1) full minute prior to drinking or cooking once water is restored until otherwise notified by the Walhalla Water Department.

More details will be shared when possible. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused and thank our customers for their patience and support.
